• Squirrel – is the most expensive and is made as the name suggests with the creatures hair! It has a lustrous quality and it will produce a fine even finish. Because of it’s softness the brush is particularly useful for carved work.
• Zorino – this has a mixture of natural and synthetic hair and has a firmer head.
• Goat – once again made from the creatures hair! This is a cheap and cheerful brush aand isn’t suitable for fine work.
• To get the best use and wear from your brushes, you need to take care of them! You need to ‘condition’ them! Here’s how:
• Having bought your new brush, before using it you must clean the brush’s  hair. Wash in warm soapy water. Then rinse thoroughly, squeezing out excess water.  Suspend brush vertically and allow to drip dry.  Dry off with kitchen towelling.
• Keeping brush vertical dip whole of the brush’s head into shellac polish. In and out. Keeping the brush vertical and allow the polish to drip down to tip. Squeeze the remaining polish towards head with fingers.
• For a Squirrel mop shape to a point.
• For a Zorino shape to a chisel edge.
• Then upend brush and allow polish to settle and harden around base. This will help secure the hairs.
• After the brush is dry, soften head by suspending 2/3  in meths. Then dry this section.
• If done properly base of head will be firm and head soft.
• Store mop vertically head down.

Each time the brush is used reshape head and store as above.  Remember these are specialist brushes and should be kept for this SOLE purpose.
