Rustins Strypit is a non-caustic dichloromethane free gel, being both water and solvent washable. The gel consistency makes it very effective for use on vertical surfaces.
Apply to wood, metal, glass, stone and masonry surfaces to remove coats of paint, varnish, cellulose, polyurethane, and French Polish.
Strypit works best when applied liberally and allowed to penetrate, although should not be used on certain plastics or fibre glass. Specially formulated to avoid stripping the attractive patina acquired through age, on old furniture.
Application
Brush on a thin coat of Strypit to provide a “key”. Dab on a second application liberally after 10 minutes. Test with a knife before scraping to ensure the paint is completely penetrated. Do not allow the surface to dry up. Apply a second liberal coat and ensure that this is worked into the blistered, softened paint. Leave for further 35 to 40 minutes. The paint/varnish should now be free from the surface and easy to remove. If not apply more Strypit. On curved surfaces or mouldings use a wire brush or steel wool.
