Shellac Sanding Sealer

Shellac Sanding Sealer by Priory Polishes is a high-quality sealer for use before French Polishing or waxing. It can also be used as a base coat after staining. Made from pure shellac, alcohol and additives, it creates a smooth, easy-to-sand surface for a more even final finish. Apply with a French polishing brush or Zorino Mop.

How to Apply Shellac Sanding Sealer

1. Make sure the wood surface is clean, dry and free from dust or grease. Fill any small cracks or imperfections using Wax Filler Sticks, then sand the timber to a smooth, even finish.
2. If required, stain the wood first to achieve the desired shade. Shake the Shellac Sanding Sealer well before use, as the additive may settle at the bottom of the container.
3. Apply the sealer in a warm, dry environment using a soft-hair French Polishing brush, brushing evenly in the direction of the wood grain. Allow the sealer to dry thoroughly and lightly de-nib between coats if needed.
4. Once sealed and smooth, finish the wood with Shellac French Polish. For a softer satin finish, apply a Wax Polish.
